While it is true that some people take belts a bit too far with the whole fashion craze, I like belts for their function. While they can be a little unyielding at times, I find the payoff is worth it. Besides the noted "My pants don't sag so people won't see my underwear" point, it also makes me more relaxed because, being the suspiscious person I am, I am always worried someone is going to sneak up behind me and pull my pants down. So wearing a belt actually helps keep my mind clear and makes me more friendly, because it gives me one less reason to question peoples' motives.
