LAST WEEK, Carl Zielinski published his review of Children of Bodom's sixth studio album, “Blooddrunk,” released on April 15. Today he turns his review into an audiocast, complete with clips from the album.

Guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho founded the forerunner of Children of Bodom in 1993 under the band name of IneartheD.

In 1996 the group became Children of Bodom (a reference to one of Finland's most notorious crimes, the 1960 Lake Bodom murders, in which three teenagers were killed and another wounded) and signed with Spinefarm Records.

The band's 1997 debut album, “Something Wild,” helped to establish Finland as a regional metal scene, and the band earned increasing critical and popular acclaim as the years went on.
