The Illineks concluded their regular season Wednesday with a 1-0 victory over Champaign Central's junior varsity team.

In the first half senior Emma Marshak scored the game's only goal, with an assist from sophomore Zoë Schein. Uni got off seven shots while the host Maroons were held to three.

The Illineks were even more aggressive in the second half, launching 13 shots to Central's one.

The win raised Uni's varsity record to 4-14 against all opponents (3-14 against varsity foes). Junior goalie Mandy Grill recorded her third shutout of the season. (Previous shutouts came against Monticello and Judah Christian.)

The team begins the Class A playoffs Tuesday with a rematch against Decatur Lutheran. Uni fell to the host Lady Lions 2-0 on Monday.

The Illineks are seeded sixth in the seven-team Decatur (St. Teresa) sectional. Uni's first-round game will begin 4 p.m. at Decatur Lutheran.
