Welcome, Guest!

Wow Andi--good article! I would add that there is also a pressure at Uni to disagree with everything--it comes with this pressure to be 'original.' As we discussed at Activism Club today, sometimes this seems to mean people write articles or speak up for an opinion for the sole reason that they want to be controversial--that's good if you have something meaningful to say. But I find that often it just comes off as unbacked and makes me wonder what they truly believe. So I agree. Think for yourself, and come up with your own opinions--whether they are different or common, it doesn't matter--but argue for an opinion you truly believe in, not for the one you think will outrage the most people. It's not that it shouldn't outrage people, but that should not be your motivation--that is just like giving in to the crowd.
