Spirit Week, Pt. 3: School Colors Day!
Posted Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, The OG, news & photo galleries
STUDENTS AND FACULTY sported orange and blue Wednesday to celebrate School Colors Day as Spirit Week continued. Uni followed a shortened bell schedule, and soon after 3 p.m. everyone filed off to Kenney Gym for the Spirit Week assembly. The event was originally scheduled for Monday but was postponed due to the large number of tests given that day.
At Kenney, a few of Uni's top male dancers displayed their moves to start things off. Then a faculty volleyball game kept students amused for a while.
The day ended with a brief celebration of Marilyn Upah-Bant and her 15 years of service to Uni High. Upah-Bant, the school's longtime director of development and alumni relations, is leaving to become coordinator of communications at the University of Illinois' new Center for Advanced BioEnergy Research. Wednesday was her final day at Uni.
Here's the schedule for the rest of Spirit Week:
— Thursday: Pajama Day
— Friday: Hippie Day
