[Note: This is the second installment of our graduation coverage. The Online Gargoyle will post about 50 more photos covering the rest of commencement, so be sure to visit again later Tuesday.]
In the photos below, members of the Class of 2006 enter the Krannert Center's Tryon Festival Theatre about 3 p.m. Saturday to the processional “Battle Without Honor or Humanity” by Tomoyasu Hotei (a song used in Quentin Tarantino's movie “Kill Bill Vol. 1”). As is traditional, many of the students have customized their caps with personal messages, often scrutable only to themselves and their closest friends. When the entire class is seated, Director/Principal Kassie Patton welcomes the soon-to-be graduates, their family members, and other guests. Ben Sims, one of two seniors elected by their peers to speak at graduation, gives the student welcome. The graduation choir follows, directed by fine arts executive teacher Rick Murphy. The rest of the commencement program will be covered in subsequent photo installments. Be sure to check back.
