“Think of this as your first alumni reunion,” Marilyn Upah-Bant told members of the Class of 2006 as they gathered in Uni Gym for Wednesday night's senior supper. Upah-Bant, the school's director of development and alumni affairs, knows whereof she speaks. The senior supper, she pointed out, is much like the dinners that graduates have when they come back to Champaign-Urbana for their class reunions. And, indeed, only two days remain before this year's seniors become alumni themselves. At the supper they took turns recalling some of their favorite Uni memories for classmates and teachers (about 25 faculty members attended the event). They also spent time leafing through their “Last Words” booklet, in which each class member gave their own customized farewell. Commencement is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday at the Tryon Festival Theatre, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.
