According to State Climatologist Jim Angel at the Illinois State Water Survey, the Champaign-Urbana area received 2.4 inches of snow on Sunday, Nov. 30. For travelers, the real trouble began early Monday morning, when they had to negotiate icy roads and occasional snow drifts, depending on which part of Champaign County they were in.
