Senior Michelle Mehnert makes sure cross country head coach Doug Mynatt lives up to the bargain he made before the Class 1A state finals in Peoria. Last week Mynatt agreed to let Mehnert shave his head if she finished in the top five. Mehnert set a school record by placing third overall, running the 3-mile course at Detweiller Park in 17 minutes, 58 seconds, a personal best. She and her teammates participated in the shaving during lunch today in the first-floor hallway. A TV news crew from a local station also dropped by to record the event.
