Former Uni guidance counselor Sam Smith dances to the beat of Mousa Bolakande, master drummer from Guinea, at the third annual Uni High Cultural Fair. The event took place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. Stoughton Street was blocked off to allow fairgoers to enjoy the festivities without worrying about traffic. Besides some 30 booths and copious amounts of food, organizers put together a stellar lineup of entertainers, including Bolakande, a scholar in residence at the U of I World Music Center; Ugandan rapper Krukid; the Alpha Phi Alpha Step Team; and Uni's own Jazz Band I and Jazz Combo.
