Junior Michelle Wong leaps into the arms of teammate Rachel Skoza during Senior Night ceremonies for the girls volleyball team on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Skoza and four fellow seniors were honored before their final home match at Kenney Gym: Jasmine Alvarado, Sheri Grill, Annie Machesky, and Jessi Sullivan. Uni went on to defeat the visiting DeLand-Weldon Eagles in three games: 25-12, 18-25, 25-14. The victory raised the varsity's record to 20-7 overall and 9-1 in the East Central Illinois conference. It also tied the school record for wins set by last year's team. The girls will travel to ECIC leader Decatur Lutheran on Tuesday, Oct. 21, in a game that could decide the conference championship.
