Audio slideshow: Subbie Retreat 2007 in photos

STUDENTS COME TO Uni High from all over Champaign County — and sometimes even farther. Getting such a diverse group of students to bond and develop a sense of identity takes time. To help kick-start the process, the school holds a "Subbie Retreat" each year — usually half a day of games and activities designed to break the ice among new students. The event is planned and overseen by older students known as subbie buddies.
This year the retreat lasted the entire school day. Gargoyle staffers Sindha Agha and Katherine Allen were on the scene to document the day on camera. Gargoyle assistant editor Lizzy Warner, a subbie buddy herself, assembled their photos into this audio slideshow.
For more about the day's events, check out Katherine Allen's first-person account, "Looking back at this year's Subbie Retreat."

Gold and silver rocks?
I would just like to say that Horace Wang, Lor Sligar and I were the ones to spray paint those. And it was really fun.
And Lor and I spray painted the cool-looking door stops, if anyone had been wondering. :)
