Next Wednesday, everyone will get a small break from their morning classes to go see DanceBrazil perform at the Krannert Center in Urbana.

DanceBrazil, headed by artistic director Jelon Vieira, combines aspects of capoeira martial arts and traditional Afro-Brazilian movement with conventional modern dance. Founded in 1977, the company has performed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.

Similar to the performance by the Morris Ardoin Creole Quartet held earlier this year, the upcoming expedition to Krannert is an arts-related, intercultural experience that is mandatory for all Uni students.

The performance starts about 10:45 a.m. and will end around noon.
