If you're curious about life as a college freshman, or if you have a question about coping with a new social atmosphere, distance from family and friends, or bad roommates, come to this week's brown bagger sponsored by the Student Services Office.
On Monday, a panel of at least five 2005 alums will be in Room 109 during lunch to answer any questions that juniors or seniors may have about college life.
The panel currently consists of
- Lauri Feldman - Columbia University
- Ben LeRoy - University of Michigan
- Sarah LeRoy - Indiana University
- Casey Roth - University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
- Andrew Zukoski - Rice University
Director of College Counseling Lisa Micele expects many more of last year's seniors to come by in addition to the five currently signed up.
The format of the brown bagger is open question. Micele will moderate the session and has a list of common topics that high school upperclassmen are usually curious about in case the discussion slows down.
These include questions about dealing with a bad roommate, what the drinking scene in college is like, balancing homework and extracurriculars, making new friends, and coping with homesickness.
Micele stresses that students should feel free to raise any doubts or questions regarding college life, and they will be answered honestly.
“This is one of my favorite brown baggers,” she says.
