THE FIRST-EVER subfreshman lock-in will take place Thursday from 5 to 11 p.m. with a wide array of activities and an included dinner.
The subfreshman-only event is $10 per ticket.
“We wanted to have another class activity like the Subbie Retreat, and since subbies weren’t allowed to go to the [United for Uganda] lock-in this year, we decided to have our own,” said subfreshman class president Jamie Blue.
Activities during the lock-in will be spread out between the first floor of Uni, Uni Gym, and the area between the two buildings, where a bonfire will be built in a pit held off the ground. Chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows will be supplied to roast s’mores.
Other foods will include pizza, chips, cookies, popcorn, and fruit.
Additional activities planned for the lock-in include the games dodgeball, Twister, balloon pop, and gold rush. The subbies will also watch “Juno” and a yet-to-be-decided-upon PG movie. There will also be a time between the games and the movies for students to decorate provided pillowcases to put on the pillows they bring to watch the movie.
Students will also have the option of leaving at 8:45 p.m. if they don’t want to stay for the whole gathering.
Faculty and parent volunteers will chaperone the event.
