SOME UNI STUDENTS might remember reading "Night" in their English classes during subfreshman year. For those who found the book to be memorable and compelling, here is an opportunity to meet the author himself.

Elie Wiesel is a Nobel Peace Prize winner and a survivor of the Holocaust. On Tuesday, he will speak at Illinois State University in Normal.

He will participate in a question-and-answer session beginning at 3:30 p.m. in the Milner Library, 201 N. School St., to talk about his life and his work.

Although the afternoon Q&A will be impossible for most Uni students and faculty to attend, the evening session is more accessible. Wiesel will speak at 7 p.m. in the Braden Auditorium, ISU Bone Student Center, 100 N. University Ave., with a book signing to follow at the Barnes & Noble Illinois State University Book Store.

This event is sponsored by The Sage Fund. Wiesel's ISU visit gives people a chance to hear from a man who survived a terrible time in history and was able to inform everyone of the true horrors of the Holocaust.

ALSO OF NOTE: Tim O'Brien, award-winning author of "The Things They Carried" and "Going After Cacciato," will speak at ISU on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. in Old Main.
