Halloween Hunger Drive update: Not candy, but cans

On Halloween night, 16 Uni students stood in an empty parking lot in the Hessel Park neighborhood of Champaign. Why? S4BW's second annual Halloween Hunger Drive. The students collected more than 300 cans for the Eastern Illinois Foodbank, supplier to most of the area's soup kitchens and food pantries. Check inside for the full story.

Food for Families drive is almost over, but here are four ways you can still contribute

You may have noticed boxes placed around Uni High for the past couple of weeks. They are part of the 22nd annual Food for Families Drive, which will come to an end this weekend. There's still time to contribute to the drive, sponsored by the Eastern Illinois Foodbank. Check inside to find out four ways you can help.

Trick-or-treating for a good cause: S4BW's Halloween Hunger Drive is back

From 6 to 8 p.m. on Halloween, students will trick-or-treat for canned goods in the Hessel Park neighborhood of Champaign. The items collected will be donated to the Eastern Illinois Foodbank. You don't have to be a member of S4BW to participate. Check inside for more info.

This Halloween Uni sudents did more than just trick-or-treat for candy. Senior Rachel Hurley and junior Rachel Hyman led efforts in collecting canned food for their Halloween Hunger Drive. The end result was quite successful, and the Gargoyle explored the planning that went into the collection.

Food drive extended through Tuesday

Uni will be collecting canned goods until Tuesday for the annual Food for Families Food Drive. Student Council hopes this year's drive raises more than in years past, but it will take contributions from the Uni community to make this drive a success. Read on to learn how you can help.
