New book examines life and death of Uni alum Iris Chang

After Iris Chang committed suicide in November 2004, Gargoyle reporter Matthew Freeman contacted one of Chang's closest friends, the writer Paula Kamen, to find out more about the brilliant 1985 Uni graduate and best-selling author of "The Rape of Nanking." Three years later, Kamen has written a book about her friend. "Finding Iris Chang" features interviews with current Uni teachers Chris Butler and Adele Suslick. Learn more about the book inside, and read the story that Freeman wrote in the aftermath of Chang's death.

Carrying on Iris Chang's flame

A few weeks ago, I was trying to find resources on Chinese immigration that I could use for my English research paper. I obtained a couple of books, one of them being "The Chinese in America" by Iris Chang. It was a really well-written book that contained lots of useful information, and everyone in my class who was researching Chinese immigration also had a copy of it.
