Any high school student will tell you that reading a Shakespeare play can be difficult. But what about performing one? Almost 40 Uni students have spent the last two months finding out firsthand what that's like. They will perform one of Shakespeare’s great comedies, “Much Ado About Nothing,” as this year’s spring play. Check inside for more about the 2008 production.

Due to a scheduling conflict, senior Ethan Berl was forced to give up his role of Benedick in the spring play, "Much Ado About Nothing," causing director Barbara Ridenour to release a revised cast list. Check inside to see the changes made.

Spring play '08: Cast is chosen, rehearsals begin

More than 40 students have been selected for the cast of Uni's spring play, Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing," directed by Barbara Ridenour. Rehearsals began today as the actors set about the demanding task of getting ready for opening night, just two months away.

Spring play '08: Auditions for "Much Ado About Nothing" to be held Monday, Tuesday

Shakespeare is in the air this spring, with the U of I, Parkland College, and the Station Theatre mounting productions of — or based on — his work. You can add Uni High to that list. This year's spring play will be the comedy "Much Ado About Nothing." Auditions are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday in the North Attic.
