Every day we are accosted with endless prescriptions for how many calories to eat, how many hours of sleep to get, how much we should exercise, what products to buy, and essentially how to live our lives.

Column: Me? Weird?

Well, what if I am? That's what Anna Gooler asks in her defense of weirdness. "Why do I like being considered weird? I think it’s related to society’s emphasis on being an individual yet fitting into a community." Besides, it's fun being different. But just remember: Don't call her strange.

Me? Weird?

I have always prided myself on being weird. In middle school, many people would comment, “You’re so strange!”

“Weird,” I would reply. “Call me weird, not strange.”
