summer

Summer reading

As the summer fast approaches, I have been continually looking forward to summer reading. Last summer, I think I only read two books excluding the required summer reading for English. So this year, I really want to spend more time immersing myself in fine literature.

Summer opportunities

I assume every single person at Uni is worn out and looking forward to summer. The ceaseless barrage of work will finally come to an end after a flurry of finals. My question is, after school is out, what will I do?

Column: One quarter to go

No, this isn't another article about the approach of summer freedom. Junior Lizzy Warner is looking forward to that, of course, but even more she's looking forward to finally attaining the most privileged position of all among Uni students: being a senior.

One quarter

We've now entered the last quarter of the 2007-08 school year, and you can't help but hear all the seniors expressing their enthusiasm in nearly being done with high school.

I, on the other hand, have five more quarters to complete until the end of my high school career. Nonetheless, I'm extremely excited for what's to come.

Sick of unwelcoming winter weather

I took this picture when it was over 80 degrees outside this summer at Meadowbrook Park in Urbana.

The autumn equinox: Summer’s end

If you were to ask Uni High students which season it is, many would say autumn. Perhaps it is the mentality that summer ends when school starts. Officially, autumn does not begin this year until Sept. 23. That day is called the autumn equinox.
