Boys Basketball: Senior Night & Regionals 2006

The 2005-06 Illineks ended their season with a 75-69 loss to Armstrong-Potomac in the semifinals of the Class A regionals on Wednesday, Feb. 22. Although the outcome was disappointing, it couldn't erase the many great memories of a record-setting season. Not only did senior Al Renner break the school's 42-year-old all-time scoring record of 1,113 points Dec. 16 against Oakwood, but the nine senior players were the winningest group in school history, setting a record for most victories over two years (45) and three years (60). This year's 22-6 record was Uni's third best for a single season. The team's 68-29 Senior Night win over Judah Christian on Friday, Feb. 17, was Uni's 21st consecutive victory at Kenney Gym. The loss to Armstrong-Potomac ended a 16-game overall winning streak. In the photos below, Uni players are wearing white uniforms on Senior Night and blue against Armstrong-Potomac.
