URBANA — Uni blanked the visiting Tribe of Judah Christian 2-0 today at the DCR fields in Urbana. After being outplayed for much of the first half, the weary Illineks pulled themselves together in time to score right before the break, as senior Tomasz Kalbarczyk tucked away a free kick from senior Jeremy Pillow.

The team picked up its level of play in the second half, creating several significant opportunities and finally converting one with less than 10 minutes to go. Once again, the golden chance was created by a Pillow free kick, this time with senior Martin Granick finishing a rebound.

Goalie Isaac Radnitzer, a junior, recorded his second shutout of the year.

With the win, Uni's varsity record improves to 4-0 overall, 1-0 in the East Central Illinois Conference. The team will travel to Mahomet on Thursday in hopes of beating the Bulldogs for the first time in recent memory.

The Illineks began their season Saturday by going 3-0 in the Uni High Soccer Shootout, defeating Blue Ridge, Oakwood, and Fisher.
