CLINTON — Sophomore Malcolm Taylor turned in another stellar performance Tuesday, placing third overall at the Clinton Quad Meet. He ran the challenging course in 17 minutes, 32 seconds.
Uni placed fourth out of four teams, with a total of 72 points. Unity topped the field with 40 points.
Junior Austin Rundus and freshman Jack Snyder, both key runners for Uni, did not compete. While Snyder's absence was due to travel, Rundus was unable to run because of a persistent injury to his Achilles tendon. Rundus' injury has prevented him from competing since the Peoria Woodruff Invitational Sept 9.
Senior Marquis Wang and freshman Andrew Weatherhead finished just seconds apart, with respective times of 20:46 and 20:49. They placed 15th and 16th.
Other Uni varsity runners followed close behind:
— Carl Zielinski, 21:06, 18th
— Nathan Smith, 21:24, 20th
— Danny Ge, 23:12, 23rd
— Ben Suslick, 24:12, 24th
The boys will compete Saturday at the St. Joseph-Ogden Spartan Classic.
