FISHER — The Illineks lost to Prairie Central 15-25, 16-25 tonight in the first round of the Fisher Class A regional tournament.

Going into the match, Uni was seeded No. 16 in the 24-team Stanford Olympia sectional, and Prairie Central was No. 23.

The Illineks finished with a record of 15-14-1, the first winning season in the history of Uni volleyball. The school's previous best records were 14-14 last year and 10-10 in 1996, when current head coach Amanda Palla was a senior.

In tonight's match, sophomore Rachel Skoza racked up seven kills, followed by sophomore Jessi Sullivan with five, and senior Beckaa Wallig with two.

Junior Ruthie Welch recorded 13 assists and sophomore Annie Machesky one. Wallig contributed three blocks.

Senior Mandy Grill led the way with 10 digs, followed by Welch with nine, and Machesky and senior Annie Liang with four each.

Junior Claire Johnson scored two aces and Sullivan one.
