URBANA — The Illineks won their ninth straight game by defeating conference opponent DeLand-Weldon 70-21 Tuesday night at Kenney Gym.

Uni is now 18-5 overall, 8-1 in the East Central Illinois Conference.

Senior Austin Rundus and sophomore Dan Lilly led the host Illineks in scoring with 12 points apiece. Half of Lilly's total came on two 3-pointers.

Senior Chumar Williams had a game-high 9 assists, while senior Mike Renner finished with a team-best 7 rebounds.

Uni put the game out of reach early, leading the overmatched Eagles 23-7 after 8 minutes and 42-12 at halftime.

The Illineks outscored the visitors 28-9 in the second half to win by 49 points.

In JV action, Uni defeated DeLand-Weldon 46-12.

The boys will return to Kenney Gym tonight to celebrate Senior Night before playing Georgetown Notre Dame de LaSalette. The JV starting time is 6 p.m. The ceremony honoring the team's six seniors will begin no earlier than 7:20 p.m., with varsity action to follow.

The seniors are Frankie McFarland, Isaac Radnitzer, all-time Uni boys career scorer Mike Renner, Ammar Rizwan, Austin Rundus, and Chumar Williams.
