'08-'09 class election results announced

Almost all of next year's class officers were announced at today's Student Council meeting. The president and vice president of the rising freshmen remain to be determined due to ballot error. Next year's subfreshman class officers will be elected in the fall. Check inside for the (nearly complete) results of this week's elections.

Class elections 2008-09: Meet the candidates

For the third straight year, the OG is publishing the bios of all candidates for class elections, which will take place Wednesday during English classes. We want to thank Student Council executive president Micah Berman for providing us with the bios and giving us permission to run them. It must be close to the end of the year because students have already elected Student Council executive officers for '08-'09. Check inside for the winners. Changing places: Uni, St. Thomas More student councils participate in two-day exchange program

Uni students can expect to see a few unfamiliar faces in the hallways Thursday. That’s because the student councils at Uni High and St. Thomas More are in the midst of an exchange program. Six Uni StudCo members spent today at the Champaign school, while tomorrow five STM students will make the trip across town.

Spirit Week '08 begins Monday; to feature new events

If it's the last week in January, it must be Spirit Week. This year the Uni tradition returns with several new events to go along with dress-up days and the all-school assembly. In addition, the girls basketball team will celebrate Senior Night at Kenney Gym Thursday against Normal Calvary, and the boys will host the same school on Friday.

Skate the night away

Tired of dances? Student Council and the junior class are putting on something different for the school: an ice skating party. The event will be held Saturday night from 8:30 to 10:30 at the U of I Ice Arena.
