Annotated Bibliography
(100 points)
The annotated bibliography will be sources for the approved Cutting Edge topic. The source entered may not necessarily appear in the final “Works Cited.”
The bibliographic entries will adhere to APA style. The student has the responsibility to find the correct format for any type of entry not found on the handout given in class.
The title for this assignment will be “Annotated Bibliography for [insert topic]”. The title will be centered on the top of the first page, one inch from the top of the page. Double space twice between the title and the first entry.
Each entry will have a three sentence annotation. The first two sentences will give a summary of the article. The third sentence will evaluate the quality of the source. As much as possible, the sentences will flow together into a single unit. The annotation will be written in standard paragraph format under the citation. Indent the annotation just as you would a paragraph.
The Annotated Bibliography will have standard margins. Font type will be Times ten or twelve point. Double space throughout.
The minimum number of entries for a grade of 80/100 (C) will be 10. Three points will be added to the score for each entry over the basic score. One point will be subtracted for each formatting error found in the Annotated Bibliography. Exceptions will be made for extremely hard to find topics at the instructor’s discretion.
The Annotated Bibliography is due Monday, December 10. A late penalty of five points per day will be assessed against late papers without extenuating circumstances.
The use of any outside on-line aids does not absolve the student from having a correct format.
